Hi. My 14-year-old son returned from camp a few days ago with very bloodshot eyes. The camp is on a lake in New Hampshire. His eyes are not at all sore, but I'm concerned. Do you have any idea if bacteria could have caused this? There were no cases of conjunctivitis at camp. Thank you.
Hello It seems from the history that your son who returned from a camp is having blood shot eyes. This is probably because of conjunctivitis and treatment is by use of decongestant and antibiotic eye drops. If he is not having symptoms like redness and discharge from eyes which indicate conjunctivitis then it us probably hyoermia of conjunctiva and will respond to decongestant eye drops. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
