What Is The Alternative Medicine For Lorzapam?

I take paxil, (30)topiramate(125) and lorazapam (2) and It is harder and harder to get my lorzapam filled. I have acute insomnia from PTSD. My doctor tells me to take the paxil in the morning but I am told ti can help you sleep. I really do not want to continue to take the lorzapam. Every time I go to get the prescription filled I am trated poorly by my health care provider, like I am a drug addict. I have been diagnosed with Bi polar 1 and I am doing well, but the acute insomnia is horrible. I went recently for three days without sleep and when this happens my eco system falls apart. I am a grad student pursuing my MFT and I have a good working knowledge of what I am going through and I am under massive amounts of stress with other family commitments. I feel like lately what I am taking is not working enough. thank you.

Paxil can be taken at bedtime as it often has strong sedative powers. This varies from person to person. Trazadone is an antidepressant that is often used for insomnia, and could be an alternative to the lorazepam. There are other sleep aids available, but many of them are similar to lorazepam. I presume you are being treated by a psychiatrist for the bipolar disorder. If not, that would be best. Bipolar is often difficult to control and requires an expert such as a psychiatrist. It could be causing the insomnia along with the PTSD. Also there are nonmedicine treatments for PTSD that you can ask your doctor about. Hope this helps.
