What Is The Actual Motility Rate Of Male Sperms ?
hi...i want to know what is the actual motility rate of male sperm..my husband semen analysis show 40 million sperm but we dont have children since 2 years..doctors suggest my husband to take clomid half a dose in 25 days and i m taking folic acid .. but i m still not conceiving... kindly suggest me any advise... i m greatful to you..thx

The sperm count 40million is good.Motility in normal is greater than 50% and morphology more than 30%normal forms.PH should be 7.1-8.0. You should also check the status of uterus and ovulation. Ultrasound examination will be necessary for that. Intercourse during your fertile period is also necessary.Hope this may help you.

There are various parameters in semen analysis which are important for a male to bear children.
Motility is one of them.
Motility of viable sperms is fast, forward, progressive and to-fro motion.
More than 50% sperms should have this motion.
Less than 50% sperms having this motion is abnormal and will interfere the conception.
Besides motility, other parameters are semen volume per ejaculate, sperm concentration and morphology.
Semen volume should be atleast 2 ml per ejaculate.
Sperm concentration should be atleast 20 million sperms per ml.
More than 50% sperms should have normal morphology i.e. a head, mid-piece and a tail.
Abnormal forms include double head or tail, dead sperms, abnormal shape of the head etc.
If the smeen analysis is within normal limits, other causes have to be ruled out.
