. Also, the pattern of amnesia will be consistent with what is expected. In case of psychogenic amnesia
, a stressor is usually present and amnesia does not follow any set pattern.
For example: In case of psychogenic amnesia, he/she may deny knowing his/her name, but still be able to remember a lot of other more complex things. Another example is circumscribed amnesia where patient does not remember only particular events (usually stressful ones), but they can recall everything else.
