What Causes Dent In The Skull?

I am 51 yr. old and healthy. I just discovered a dent in my skull that appear to coincide with the suture line. It is about 0.25 in wide by 2 inches long. There is no pain, and no head trauma I recall. Should I see a physician or has this probably always been there?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite normal to have this finding because of continuous bone re-modelation, which is a physiological process. Nevertheless, I recommend checking calcium and vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
