What Does This Ultrasound Scan Of Uterus Indicate?

Wife just had second consecutive miscarriage (both at 6 weeks). We already have 2 girls with neither pregnancies having any problems and both conceived at the first time of trying. We thought it kind of strange so she went for a scan worried that there might be something there that is affecting conception. Scan found there to be a black spot in the womb though doctor said she did not know what it could be. Question... what can it be? And could something abnormal in the womb be preventing conception?

Hi, I have gone through your question. It is highly unlikely that any problem in the uterus cause early first trimester miscarriages (6 weeks). Please do mention whether you got the ultrasound done done after the miscarriage. If yes, then this black spot in the womb can be the little leftover blood clot, which will resolve with time. Early miscarriages can be due to several reasons, for which one needs to get investigated, 6-8 weeks after the last miscarriage.
Hope this answers your question. Please get back to us if you have further questions.
Wishing you and your wife good health.
