Explain Ultrasound Result
My last period was on 16th February & i m in six weeks pregnacy. I went to doctor for check-up & I did ultrasound . The result was mention * uterus is bulky. * single GS is seen in the uterus * fetal pole is not detected with in the GS. so i want to know what that mean..is it not in a correct position or is it not growing. doctor said it is not growing & i will have a Miscarriage . could you please explain me the situation.

welcome to healthcere magic. your ultrasound does suggest that the baby is not growing properly and it could be a missed abortion, but there are cases where there is delayed conceptiona and it is mistaken forinadequate growth. i suggest you get an other ultrasoung done after 7 days of the first ultrasound. that will be a confirmatory ultrasound. also get a serum beta hcg and a serum progesterone done right away. the beta hcg levels will have to be repeated.

The ultrasound report you have posted says fetal pole is not detected along with the GS that is gestational sac.This implies that the growth of your baby is not proper or proportionate with the number of weeks.In such a situation you can repeat the ultrasound after 1 week if the second report also suggests the same then you have a miscarriage for which you may require to under o a D & C.Please consult your Gynaecologist.
