Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have many patients like you every day. At 6 weeks the pregnancy age is very small and to give a proper report we require certain structures to be seen clearly. It is also the time where the first signs of heart beat appear and this shows that a normal fetal development is in progress. Since you have not mentioned the cardiac or heart activity, your doctor wants you to take the the medication for 10 days and come again. It causes the endometrium to protect an existing pregnancy. There is nothing to be unhappy about and your doctor is doing the right thing in asking you to come following 10 days for review scan. In the next scan, the details of the fetus will be better evaluated and a healthy pregnancy will be confirmed. Please do not worry.
