What Does This USG Report During Pregnancy Indicate?
Hi, I am 27 weeks pregnant and in my recent USG report it says that Placenta: Fundal anterior in location. Lower margin lies close to the os. Maturity grade - 1 Can you please kindly explain what this means and whether it is still possible for me to have a normal vaginal delivery?? Thanks!
well this means placenta previa grade 1, ie placenta reaching the os not covering it. the chances of vaginal delivery may be contemplated if the distance of os is more than 2cm away from placenta.this is a possibility as with growth of size of uterus there is thinning of the lower uterine segment and subsequent climbing of placenta , ie movement away from the os. advise would be to do an ulrasound at 34 weeks pregnancy to confirm placenta previa and thereby decide further. the placenta may climb up and your chances of a vaginal delivery may increase. regards
