What Does Thick Shadow In Uterus Mean In Pelvic Scan?
I had an internal pelvic scan last week to check ovaries before I proceed with ivf treatment and a shadow was found in my uterus measuring 16mm. I was two days away from my menstral cycle at the time so womb lining was very thick anyway. They are going to re scan me in two weeks. Could this shadow be a fybroid or just part of my cycle or something I should be worried about?

1.The shadowing is seen in case of fibroids and also in cysts.
2.If you are close to your cycle it will not be seen as shadowing instead it is seen as hyper echoic / increased echo texture.
3.A complete report would have been easy to help you better.
4.Howevere the possibilities of some structure in the uterus or endometrium which the doctor want to do a followup.
5.Follow the instructions, i think there is nothing to worry about.
