Hi Doctor, I got my MRI done today for the spine and the report says:1. I have mild diffuse disc bulge with left sided propensity at L5 level minimally indenting the thecal sac and causing mild narrowing of left neural formania 2. Screening of rest of the spine reveals: a) Mild posterocentral protrusion with small annular tear is seen at C5-6 Levels b) Mild posterior disc buldge is also seen at C5-6 level Please advise.. Thank you..
Report suggests mild degenerative disc disease in lumbar and cervical spine.
1.At L5 level, there is mild diffuse disc bulge (more in left side)which is indenting the thecal sac and it is causing mild narrowing of left lateral neural foramen. 2.At C5-6 level, there is mild posterocentral protrusion of disc with small annular tear.Mild posterior disc bulge is also seen at this level.
So,you have mild degenerative changes in in both cervical and lumbar region. Majority of the cases of early degenerative spine disease are managed by physiotherapy, analgesics and muscle relaxants. You should consult your doctor.
Surgery is the last option.
