What Does The MRI Report Indicate?Suggest Treatment
Dear doctor, my mother in law did the MRI as advised by eye specialist since she is having a blurr vision past 1 month. The MRI findings as per below; This examination revelaed a mass in the pituitary area fossa extending supra and parasellar reqion. Mass measuring about 2.97x2.5x2.63cm lobulated superior surface and has broad base abutting the sphenoid. The intensity is similar to the brain parenchyma. No defenite calcification or cystic changes seen. Homogenous contrast enhancement seen in the post Gd images. There appears to be enhancement dural tail along the sphenoid bone. Mass is encasing both internal carotid arteries. Compression of the optic chiasma superiorly. The mass in the sellar region raised the possibilities or meningioma or pituitary macroadenoma. Small old lacunar infarcts. Please explain the treatment/surgery she have to urdergo. The risk for now and after surgery. Possibility of recur. Is she in critical stage? Thank you
