What Does "c3-c4 Level With 5-6 Mm Disc Osteophyte Complex Bulge" Mean?

I have c3-c4 level with 5-6 mm disc osteophyte complex buldge and moderate uncovertebral joint hypertrophy. Cause sever to moderate neuroforaminal narrowing bilateral and mild central spine canal stenosis. With existing impingement on existing nerve root bilaterially. Why does this mean? Also similar c4-c5, c5-c6 with 3-4 mm para entrap disc protrusion.

Hello
Thanks for writing to us

According to report, you are suffering from degenerative disc disease of cervical spine.
Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis.

1.At C3-4 level, there is 5-6 mm disc osteophyte complex bulge with moderate hypertrophy of uncovertebral joint. It is causing bilateral severe to moderate neural foramen narrowing and mild central spine canal stenosis. It is also causing impingement over exiting nerve roots bilaterally.
There are also evidence of 3-4 mm disc entrapment at C4-5 and C5-6 level.

Majority of the cases of degenerative spine disease are benefited by physiotherapy,so physiotherapy should be tried first.
Surgery should be the last option.
There are also medicines like capsule pregabalin available for pain relief.

Treatment can be planned after consultation with neurosurgeon.

Get well soon.
Take Care
