What Does Posterior Placenta Mean During Pregnancy?

Hi, I`ve just been to my 34 weeks scan and on the report is is saying that placenta position is posterior. the leading edge is 5.2 cm from internal os. Is that ok? the midwife that is ok and i can have a natural, vaginal birth. I`m worried as at 20 weeks scan they said the placenta was low , 2 cm from the os. But now is 5.2 cm, hope this is better.

Farther away the placental edge from the internal os it is better so that it does not come in the way of baby during delivery and does not cause alarming bleeding. If the placental edge is within 5 cms from the internal os, then it is a problem - called as placenta praevia.
Posterior position is also good. It means that the placenta is implanted on the posterior wall of the uterus, which is normal.
Yes, you will be given the chance to deliver vaginally. The placental position will not cause any problem in your delivery.
