What Does My Ultrasound Test Report For Whole Abdomen Suggest?

I am 65 years old man. when I ultrasound for whole abdomen, left kidney shows a 16mm sized cortical cyst in mid pole. Right kidneys shows two cortical cyst, larger one 25 mm in upper pole.Other examination i.e. liver, gall bladder,pancreas, spleen,ureters are ok. my blood pressure is 122/80

Thanks for writing in.

With advancing age, cysts are known to occur in both kidneys. Having cysts in kidneys as mentioned by you is acceptable. Cysts more than 30 mm in diameter need to be followed up. Cysts are fluid filled balloon like structures which are harmless. There is no need to worry for your cysts and there is no medications to treat cysts that you have. You may choose to get a repeat ultrasound of abdomen after a year to know if the cysts have grown in size.
