In my last blood test sgot is 114 , sgpt is 65 and bilirubin level is 13.3Compared to my previous reports my sgot and sgpt levels are decreasing but bilirubin level is increasing. First it was 4.5 then 6.9 and at last 13.3 . Why is it increasing ??? My doctor said that this is the sign of curing of jaundice ..is that so ? Please help me im very much tensed
Hello and welcome to HCM, The level of SGOt and SGPT levels are raised due to elevated liver enzymes. Liver enzymes are elevated in cases of liver diseases like hepatitis, drug toxicity, alcohol toxicity, etc. Raised level of bilirubin also suggests liver disease. Rising level of bilirubin suggests worsening of liver functions. However, decreasing levels of liver enzymes suggest an improving liver status. I suggest you to get regular liver function tests.
