What Does My MRI Report Mean?

Hi there doctor. The following are my MRI results. Mild broad based disc bulge is seen with anterior indentation to the thecal sac. No evidence of significant foraminal stenosis. Central disc herniation is present causing anterior indentation to the thecal sac. No evidence of significant spinal canal stenosis. Bilateral facet joint degenerative changes at the two lower lumbar areas. Could you please tell me what this means? Thank you in advance

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The MRI reveals certain changes in the spinal cord.
However, you have not mentioned the level of spinal cord/ vertebral column at which the changes are evident.
There is bulging and herniation of the intervertebral discs onto the thecal sac anteriorly.
Compression of thecal sac and nerves can lead to neurological symptoms.
There is degeneration of the vertebral joints.
You need to consult an orthopedician with the reports.
The bulging and herniation of the discs is managed initially by conservative measures.
Conservative measures include complete bed rest and pain killers.

Thanks and take care
