What Does It Mean To Have Prominent Adenoid Tissues In A 3 Year Old Male?

My 2 years 7 months son is mouth breathing . our pediatrician did an x ray ........the X ray results says:'" Prominient soft tissue densities are noted over the nasopharyngeal region,suggestive of adenoid tissues. the upper airway is slightly narrowed.No obvious radiopaque foreign body is seen.

hello. adenoid tissue are normal structures present behind the nose, these generally reduce in size by 10-12 years of age and may increase during episodes of upper respiratory tract infections. it is perfectly natural thing and you dont have to be concerned. however , if they persistently remain enlarged and you child keeps on mouth breathing , then meet your ENT doctor for further guidance. thanks
