What Does Cholesterol Of 237 And LDL Of 174 Suggest?

I am 43 years old and I have a total Cholesterol number of 237. LDL number is 174. The doctor has placed me on medicine. I have recently started working out twice a day and watching my diet. Is it possible for me to avoid the medicine or should I start taking it?

As per the present guidelines your LDL (The bad Cholesterol) is definitely very high and need to be broght down. Diet and Exercise are important aspects of lipid management, but at these levels you definitely need a statin.
So, you must take the prescribed medicine along with dietary and other life-style modification measures.
