Hi,
I Have had an abortion about 2 months ago now, And on the same day had a copper IUD put in. I Have recently started experincing a brownish dscharge, its not to heavy but is causing me concern, Im wondering if this is to be expected or not. And how long it should last if its perfectly normal.

Hi,
slight brown discharge after CU T insertion is common in beginning. It may be there off & on during 1st month of insertion. after that it usually stops.
You should be concerned if-
- the bleeding becomes profuse/it is with pain. You have to consult your doctor at this stage to exclude- incomplete abortion/ displaced Cu T.
In case there is no problem Many a times more time( as long as 3 months) is given for adjustment of CU T with addition of medicines to avoid excess blood loss.
- If there is profuse bleeding/ not reduced after3 months trial under doctor's guidance- It's advised to remove Cu T.
Thanks
