What Does Polyhydramnios During Pregnancy Indicate?

Hi, I am 31wks and 4days pregnant and I am measuring at 38 wks I have been diagnosed with Polyhydramnios. The DR says that my daughter is very health and is actually measuring a little big. So I was wondering if I could ask to be induced Tuesday when I seen my OB. I am very uncomfortable and very big.

Polyhydamnios is a condition in which there is excess of liquor amnii or amniotic fluid .It can cause lots of complications-Oedema in patient,higher fundal height as you mentioned-38 in place of 31,Preterm labour,Premature rupture of membranes .It might be associated with anomalies in baby.Polyhydramnios can be treated by conservative medication. You should get all necessary antenatal investigations if not done till now.if you respond to conservative treatment pregnancy can be continued to term .
But if you have forgotten your dates and your pregnancy is 38 wks with polyhydamnios you should get induction.
