What Do White Blotches On Forearms Indicate?

My 2 year old daughter has white blotches on the skin of her forearms. It almost looks like we applied sunscreen just to those spots. She also sometimes has little raised flesh colored bumps in the area. No difference is seen when I add moisturizing lotion. She is caucasian.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

Areas of hypo pigmentation in the skin are consistent with vitiligo. This is an autoimmune condition. It is usually seen in older children and adults. Your daughter should see a dermatologist to have the diagnosis confirmed. Unfortunately if it is vitiligo there is no specific treatment.

Best wishes
