What Do Symptoms Of Headaches, Tiredness And Frequent Urination Indicate?

Hi there. I'm a 19 year old female. I've just started tracking my cycles more frequently because I seem to be skipping. I don't think I miss exactly every other month, but I may be which is why I'm keeping a closer eye on it. I'm also discovering more frequent urination, occasional cramping when I'm not having a cycle, seemingly constant headaches and tiredness. Theres no chance I could be pregnant as I'm not sexually active. I am concerned that if it turns out to be every other month I miss a cycle that there could be something wrong with one of my ovaries, I've also heard that frequent urination can have something to do with cervical or ovarian problems. I'm not scared of finding out, but I am becoming a little concerned that 1) I'm skipping periods (never two months in a row) and 2) that I'm not on a scheduled cycle yet, by this age I thought that usually people started pretty much at the same time every month, give or take a few days.
Is there a chance that theres something wrong?

Hi there,
I have gone through your question and am of the opinion that:
1) You might have hormonal imbalance like PCOS if you are missing periods every other month. Hormonal imbalance is very common in girls of your age.
2)Frequent urination could be because of some benign cause like a urinary infection or something bigger like diabetes.
3) Scheduled cycles will happen eventually. Do not worry. No need to worry if you are getting periods by themselves.
4) Headaches, tiredness could indicate some nutritional deficiencies like anaemia or vitamin deficiency.

My suggestion is that you wait for few months, improve your diet, reduce your weight and increase your activity level, drink plenty of water, have high fibre diet and maintain a period diary.

Hope this was helpful,
Regards,
Dr. Shikha Shah
