What Damage Will Enlarged Spleen Cause If Not Removed?

Hi Docotor i was dignosed with Splenomegaly , aparently my spleen measures 23cm & the surgeon suggested that the only treatment is Splenectomy cause she did rum a series of Blood test(including Liver functions) & she does t know what caused it to enlarge , if i don t remove it what damage is it causing. I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I could say that there are numbers of reason behind the splenomegaly and that need to be found out and differentiate with each other, here the clinical manifestation is matter if this is asymptomatic then no need to worry about this otherwise the surgery is the only option, to get rid of this condition, take care and have nice day.
