Hello,

You have enlarged lymph nodes on the right side of the neck. Swollen lymph nodes in the neck can be a sign of an infectious disease. Enlarged lymph nodes need to get examined by a GP to determine the cause of swelling. Imaging tests are done to closely examine the lymph nodes and the surrounding structures.

Your treating GP may recommend ultrasound, CT scan and MRI scan done to detect the cause of the symptom. If required biopsy is done to rule out any malignant growth. You will be treated accordingly. The symptom may be indicative of strep throat, common cold, mumps, rubella, ear infection, or mononucleosis, as well as an infected wound.

Swollen neck lymph nodes can also indicate certain types of cancer, such as non-Hodgkin lymphoma or Hodgkin’s disease (Hodgkin lymphoma). Unexplained bruising and rash is because of it the lymph node enlargement. You can apply ointment Soframycin or Hydrocortisone on the area affected for relief.

You can take antihistamine, one SOS when required to reduce itching and discomfort. Cold compression may help. You can take acetaminophen, one SOS when needed to reduce inflammation and distress. You will need antibiotics, get treated at the earliest and stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
