What Could Drop In HCG Levels With Severe Vomiting Indicate?

my hcg level on thursday was 2579, yesterday it fell to 2288. I woke up at 4am yesterday with vomiting which lasted most of the day. Today I have had no nausea or vomiting, and after i got the results i started spotting (very little). I am about 7 weeks. Could it be vanishing twin syndrome, or is more than likely a miscarriage?

Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM..
I understand your concern..hCG is a hormone that is produced in pregnancy. Typically in early pregnancy your hCG levels will about double nearly every two to three days. This is a sign of a healthy pregnancy.
If your hCG is falling or not rising quickly enough, you may be having a miscarriage. Here , your hcg is falling along with bleeding which points towards miscarriage. For confirmation get a scan done to see for gestational sac. By 7 weeks, if the periods are regular expected to see a fetal pole and cardiac activity. The hcg level however corresponds to 5 weeks.. It can also be a late conception.. Don't worry.. Sometimes it might rise again.. See your gynaec for a check up. Hope i have answered your queries.. Good luck..
