What Could Be The White Solid Stuff In Back Of Throat And Tonsils?
Hi I think I have Tonsilloliths - build up of white solified substance in back of throat and tonsils, I can remove some of the stuff in my tonsils but some of it is further down my throat and causing real distress as I can get to it and it feels like a build up, can you suggest anything? Thanks
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain Tonsilloliths or Tonsil stones are formed due to calcification of food particles and debris that gets accumulated over the tonsils.. It is a common cause for tonsil inflammation and bad breath.. You can consult an Otolaryngologist and he can manually remove the stones with fine tweezers.. You can start gargling with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water to reduce stone formation. You can also be advised to do warm saline gargles.. You should always gargle after meals.. Limit intake of dairy and other high calcium products..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
