What Could Be Causing Changed Sleep Patterns And Lack Of Motivation In Studies In A Child?

I noticed that my 12 year old childs sleep cycle has changed. He is staying awake more at night. On school nights he is in bed by 9pm. I noticed he will wake up during the night to get something to drink or get a snack and return to bed. His teacher has e-mailed me about my son not being motivated to do his work in the classroom and that he seems tired mostly in the afternoon.. He has been to his pediatrician this week for bloodwork to rule out anemia or thyroid problem.

greetings,
sleep cycle is a very vulnerable thing.
you have to first avoid him taking any naps in the morning.
second make sure that he is in his bed by 9.
do not give relaxations over the weekend.
The time table should go the same way.
hope this helps.
regards.
