What Causes White Head Pimples Between Anus & Vagina?

Hi, I have what looks like to be a white head pimple on the highest part of my inner thigh like between my anus and vagina but not on either of them; I looked up what herpes looks like and it looks nothing like that. It looks sort of like a zit- but I m not sure. Could it be herpes? It doesn t hurt unless i squeeze it or scratch it and it s kind of hard- like an infected ant bite or something. I m worried- I haven t had sex with any one expect my boyfriend and over the past year I haven t seen any bumps or symptoms on him. I m still paroniod though...

Hi,

According to your description the possible causes of the lesions you mentioned are:
- Folliculitis due to infected ingrown hair containing follicles.
- Mollascum contagiosum, which is a viral infection leading to small round painless bumps.

But by clinical examination only the exact cause of the lesions can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly. So, please consult your gynecologist once and get examined. In case of folliculitis you may need local and systemic antibiotics. In case of molluscum contagiosum mild lesions usually fade away by themselves. If the lesions are severe you may need treatment with cryotherapy, cauterization, etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
