What Causes Urine Odor And Voiding Dysfunction With Constipation?

my daughter is 9 but she has had foul smelling urine for almost 3 years with leaking. We took her to a specialist and they said she has daytime wetting and it could just be from constipation, so she was put on Miralax. They said this problem would go away on its own, but it has not. The smell is musty and is always present. You can smell it from several feet away.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my surgical experience, the strong urine odor indicates possible urine infection of odor producing bacteria or fungus with or without underlying systemic issue of diabetes or else.
* I recommend to consult in follow up with all reports done till now for best possible guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
