General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think he should see a gastroenterologist first. We should determine the right diagnosis : if there is any organic problem or just functional (IBS).

So, better :
- consult with gastroenterologist
- run : complete blood count, stool analysis and culture and sensitivity testing, abdominal ultrasound, colonoscopy, upper endoscopy.

For the moment, I can only suggest to :
- make some healthy changes in his diet
- avoid foods that would aggravate the symptoms
- increase fluids intake
- take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora

Hope this helps.
