Hello there. I have read through your question and can understand your concern. Your husband seems to be having high diastolic pressure which definitely needs to be investigated. there are many reasons of high blood pressure like atherosclerosis [hardening of arteries], kidney disorders, diabetes or thyroid disorders. i would suggest you to get the following investigations done for your husband.
1. EKG
2.Kidney function tests
3. chest X ray
4. Thyroid function test
i hope that answers your question. Pls feel free to write if you have any further queries.
