What Causes Tired Heart In Elderly Woman?

my mother is 93 and has a "tired heart". She recently is getting dizzy, says she feels "strange" as if everything is upside down and falls to the right. She would fall to the floor if we weren't there to catch her. She is on a bunch of medicine including diltiazem, toporol, vicaden and others. She won't go to the Dr. Said she is tired of all the meds and she is old. Any thoughts?

First of all I need to know what you mean by Tired Heart . Is it a doctor's diagnosis or you are describing her condition as tired heart?

Dizziness can happen due to many causes . From simple causes like low / High BP , Low / High Blood Sugar , Low / High Blood Sodium , Thyroid Problems , Inner ear problems , Anemia to some serious problems like Heart problems like Heart failure , Arrythmias , Aortic stenosis , Some Brain problems .

So I advise you get her BP checked in sitting and standing position ( I got the point that she doesn't want to meet doctor ), get her Hemoglobin , Serum Sodium , Blood sugars tested .

Also Vicaden can causes dizziness , so stop it . If her BP is low Either Diltiazem or Toporol dosage has to be reduced. For that you need to take her to your Doctor.
