What Causes The Hives?

I have hives daily for 3 1/2 years now. Sometimes the are worse than others, but I have them everyday. I had numerous tests. The only thing abnormal was my RA level and my thyroid antibodies were a little high. My TSH, T3 and T 4 are WNL. I also have a low GFR, I have polycystic kidneys. My BUN, Potassium, and Creatinine are WNL. I take double doses of Zyrtec daily but still have hives. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Lori
