What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes Under The Jaw?

THe lymph nodes under my jaw, on either side of my throat are swollen. I just recently quit smoking and I wonder if my body is gathering all the tar and such to get rid of it? They ve been swollen for about a week and a half now. I went to the doctor, got some blood tests done and she said the worst that s wrong with me is a vitamin D deficiency. Should I be worried about why my lymph nodes are swollen?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,

Most common cause for lymph node swelling is infection in local area. There is no relation with smoking abstinence as there is no mechanism to collect tars by lymph nodes.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar,
