What Causes Stomach Pain With More Bowel Movements?
i had fever yesterday at 6.15 p.m ist 100 deg celcius and after that today i passed stool after pain in stomach and i m on cefixime 200 mg for UTI fom 30.12.2011 my stool rep says pus cells 10-15 and epithelial cell 0-1 rest not detected , i ve gone for almost 8 times.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. It is noteworthy that you are already on Cefixime which in itself is good for gastrointestinal infection. Since hte stool is showing pus cells you need to be started on another antibiotic active against intestinal infection like Ofloxacin but needs a prescription from your Doctor, proper dosages and duration. Take the medications till cured and also send the urine sample for review, stool for review and blood tests to see for WBC increase and liver, kidney functions. You may take banana, curds and rice if there is no nausea or vomiting. Paracetamol if the fever persists. If required you need hospitalization for proper intravenous fluids, electrolytes and antibiotics for early recovery, to maintain hydration and electrolyte balance.
