What Causes Stomach Cramps?

Hi sir,
I am 28yrs old i had an ivf embryo transfer on 30/08/2012. I am waiting for the result. I have stomach cramps past one week. Light stomach cramps only. Atleast once in a day. If any problem is there to getting pregnant. Shall i take the pregnancy test tomorrow(13/9/2012).

Hi,

Abdominal cramps can be seen during the premenstrual period and also in early pregnancy during implantation period. So, just by the symptoms we cannot come to a conclusion regarding the possibility of pregnancy. Yes, you can go for a pregnancy test on 13th September as by that time, two weeks will be over after IVF.

Better to prefer blood test for pregnancy, which can give more accurate result compared with urine pregnancy test. If serum beta HCG levels in the blood test show more than 5 mIU / mL, it indicates the possibility of pregnancy, levels between 5 to 25 mIU / mL needs confirmation. Levels above 25 mIU / mL confirms the possibility of pregnancy.
