What Causes Sticky Discharge From Vagina After C-section?

I had a c-section 2 weeks ago, and the bleeding has already almost dissipated. However, now I notice a bit of stinkiness from my vagina & I wonder if I should call my provider? They said to call if there s a foul odor , but how foul is foul? There is no pain, and the incision is healing well.

Hello,
I have gone through the query and understood your concern. The lochial discharge from the vagina after the delivery may last for up to 3 weeks. This discharge is sticky, and lighter in color. If you find the odor of rotten eggs or fishy smell, then there is some infection and you must report to your health care provider. Take a good protein diet and adequate rest to help wound healing. Maintain proper genital hygiene. Do not use tampons. Use sanitary napkins. Do not douche or use strong soap solutions to clean the genital region. You can use mild antiseptic solution. Hope this helps.
