What Causes Slow Heartbeat With Smaller Embryo Size During Pregnancy?
I am approximately 7 weeks pregnant and had a vaginal us on Friday. They saw the embryo with a slow heartbeat. The Dr and tech said that the embryo was smaller than they'd hope and the heartbeat slower. The doctor mentioned in pacing that the tech saw a place in the us where there was bleeding (maybe placenta?). I am not experiencing any cramping or bleeding. I had a miscarriage mid-April 2011 (less than 6 weeks pregnant) and a miscarriage March 2010 (around 6 weeks pregnant). I have a 4 year old son (born 17 April 2007) -- no issues with that pregnancy. I am 37 (DOB 16 Apr 74), 5'8", 210 lbs.
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion I suggest you to repeat the scan after 2 weeks to know the status of pregnancy. Also thyroid evaluation might be necessary.Take folic acid and progesterone supplements.Avoid stress if any.It is good that you dont have any miscarriage symptoms.Dont worry. Best regards...Dr.srilatha
