Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to panic attacks. But, based on your description we can not exclude possible cardiac arrhythmia.

For this reason, I would recommend performing an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring in order to investigate for possible cardiac arrhythmia.

Some blood lab tests are needed too (complete blood count for anemia, thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction and blood electrolytes for possible imbalance).

If all the above tests result normal, you should consider anxiety as the main cause underlying your complaints.

In such case, consulting with a specialist of the field (psychiatrist, psychologist) may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
