What Causes Rapid Heart Rate And Lightheadedness?

Today I experienced some lightheadedness along with a racing heart. I have never experienced these symptoms together before. They lasted for quite a while (about 45 minutes) before they stopped. I was at work and did not mention my symptoms to anyone but I walked around and the symptoms seems to improve when I did some calf raises while standing. What do you think caused this and should I see a doctor or wait to see if it happens again?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there
I'm sure your experience at your workplace was anything but pleasant

Plenty of reasons can be attributed and thought off.

Most common would be a climbing blood pressure with a rapidly escalating

heart rate. It is quite surprising that you did not press the alarm systems

and bore everything for 45 minutes..

I believe you do need a cardiac check up for me to be able to walk you out

of this..

Do let me know your doctors follow up strategy as well

Glad to be of help

Stay healthy
