Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had loose watery diarrhoea for 12 days and my doctor sent a stool specimen for microscopic culture and sensitivity after 10 days. The result today came back normal and the receptionist said no action needed. Will the test have shown anything more sinister? My symptoms are still the same. My chemist has given me rehydrated drinks and loperimide as it is negative. I have taken 2 capsules of 2 mgs. Why won't it go away on its own? Why did the doctornot test for anything else?
Some advice that I can give to you is: -Drink plenty of fluids. -Take oral rehydration drinks. -Continue taking imodium drug. -Take prebiotic supplements.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
