Hello, Your daughter is suggested to gargle with salt water 3-4 times a day. Your daughter has history of congestion and is presently having pain throat with difficulty in swallowing. It is commonly caused by common cold, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, allergy, acid reflux, etc. She is suggested to take non sedating antihistamine for relief. She can also take Combiflam or Acetaminophen, one SOS to reduce any type of inflammation and soreness. She can get clinically examined by an ENT, to detect any swelling, tonsillitis or pharyngitis, etc. In the mean time she can take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin for faster relief. She should get swab and sputum test along with blood tests done. If tonsillitis is suspected she may be recommended to get imaging tests done. get her treated at the earliest. Take care.
