Female, 5 7 , 145 pounds, age 40. Right hand wrist problem ongoing for 2 years now. I fell two yeras ago, 1 xray taken, wasn t sure about scaphoid fracture, casted 2 weeks, repeat xray, was told nothing obvious as in scaphoid fracture, could be liagment, tendon, crack. Left at that. I ve been experiencing pain since then, but probably worse since this past winter. Recently saw a sports medicine doctor. He diagnosed possibly Dequervains tendonitis. Few xrays taken. Mentioned a tiny bony bump on radius within vicinity of wear Dequervains is, and maybe this lump is irritating the tendon. Also tiny lump on scaphoid (outer edge of it towards thumb) where he says its normally smooth. I ve had a injuries to this wrist in the past that were never treated. Prior to injuries I never had problems with my wrist. I m assuming these tiny bony lumps are due to trauma? He also pressed around on hand bones. He placed his thumb on the lunate bone and his two other fingers were resting against the small bone, pinky side of hand, palm side I think called the Hamate bone? Anyways this is the way he held my hand. He pressed on the lunate with his thumb and moved my hand up and down (not side to side) and I felt a clunking sound that is within the region of the lunate. Is the clunking due to a liagment or bone? Besides this I do have some mild swelling and pain. Take Advil, and have worn a thumb splica splint when needed.
