What Causes Pain And Vaginal Bleeding In Pregnancy?

My wife has missed her period by 2 weeks and urine test showed two lines (tested many times and positive). Today she had pain in her abdomen just like during periods. She is having 100mg progestrone twice daily. After this pain she could see mild bleeding and tissue in her urine. Can you help us to find the reason for this.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

There is a possibility of having post implantation bleeding early in pregnancy. This is usually seen when the fertilized egg reaches the uterine cavity and gets attached to the decidual layer in the uterine wall. This is said to occur due to the slight hormonal changes which receive the pregnancy and makes the environment favorable to continue till term. This is one or the possible reasons the slight bleeding has occurred. Taking progesterone 100 mg twice daily will protect the fetus and allow it to remain viable. This will maintain the positive effects of hormone levels and permit the pregnancy to thrive.
