What Causes Itchy Lumps On The Ankle?
I have had several very itchy red bumps on my ankle for the past few weeks. My doctor thought was folliculitis, however when the medication wasn t working, she was stumped... I just found a small red worm in my bed sheets. It is between a quarter and a half inch long, has six legs on the upper portion of its body and two points on it s tail. It does look segmented. Do they have to do with each other? I am 25 years old, weigh about 135lbs and am 5 2

Insect or chigger bites cause itchy red bumps. They may appear like blisters, pimples, lumps as soon as it gets in contact with the skin. Other medical conditions that cause similar symptoms are allergic reaction to a variety of allergens (allergic contact dermatitis). Few other causes of ankle rashes include viral infections, autoimmune disorders and varicose veins. Maintain your hygiene, keep the affected area clean from any type of infection.
Apply ointment hydrocortisone to the area affected to get rid of itching. Take non sedating antihistamines to get rid of allergy symptoms. Clean all your clothes, be sheets and bedding in hot water. Try to limit contact with any allergens that affect you. Do not scratch or touch it. It should go away, if not you may need a course of antibiotics orally for faster relief.
