What Causes Increase In Pulse Rate?

Hi my pulse rate is constantly 113 or around that at resting. Also I took my blood pressure earlier when relaxed and it was 105/56. I feel tired but sleep okay through the night and usually get 7-8 hours sleep every day. I also get dizzy spells and feel as though I m about to faint but never do. I m constantly hot all the time and when nervous I sweat quite a bit especially on my face which I m very conscious of. I m a 23 year old female. I don t take any medication apart from the contraceptive pill. Please help :( thank you!

Cardiologist 's  Response

Hi
low blood pressure is always associated with high heart rate, the function of heart is to maintain the cardiac output ,so that all the organs can get a proper blood supply, when your blood pressure is low the heart will automatically start beating at a faster rate so to maintain the cardiac output.

as you have dizzzy spells also
i would suggest you to go for a 2d echo ,to find out the ejection fraction of the heart as cardiac output depends upon the ejection fraction of heart
as you are 23 i would suggest youi to repeat a hemoglobin as anaemia in females is common due to menstruation and causes the same symptoms

thank you
