What Causes Herpes?

Hello :) I had Rubella as a kid(3 yrs old) I've never had any signs or symtoms and have had protected sex except when married (Over 10 yrs ago). Now I go to the Doc for My First Yeast Infection in My Life and they want to tell me that I have trichomonas and herpes??? Can rubella make you pop positive for a herpes culture done in Your Docs office?

Good day and thanks for your question. Rubella can not make you positive for herpes, they are 2 different viral infection and not related. The herpes could be as a result of a sexually transmitted infection. Hope it helps. Thank you.
