What Causes Heart Racing In A Patient Having High BP?

Thankyou doctor,

I am 71 yo and taking heart medication for high blood pressure and a.f. experienced during an operation five years ago. I am also on anti-biotics (Cilex-250mg) for diviticulitis which has been successful in the past but does not seem to be working this time. I have checked my blood pressure and pulse as I could feel my heart beating quickly. Sys. was 148, Dia. 90 and heart rate or pulse is 122. I there anything to worry about? Jill.

HI
Well come to HCM
If you have some heart elements with hypertension with the history of tachycardia then this condition need to be differentiate from normal condition and for that EKG and ECHO need to be done if this turned tachyarrhythmia then may need some medicine to control the heart rate, but most of the time this turned just sinus tachycardia which is normal condition, and no need to worry about this, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
