What Causes Heart Burn And Burning Sensation In Throat?
Hello, I recently stopped smoking using champix tablets, I am still taking them but a lower dose. I have been suffering from heart burn and a burning sensation in my throat for 3 days, could this be linked to the tablets? the only other side affects I have sufferd was feeling sick in the first few days of starting the course.

More or less Champix is a safe and effective medicines for helping adults to stop smoking. Though, it has very few side effects and mostly without a serious concern to patients. Almost all the side effects seen with the medicine are self limiting after stoppage of medicine & do not require any specific treatment. Feeling of sick (nausea) and heart burn is present in about 10% of the patients, who take it. Inflammation of nose and throat is also, one of the frequent side effect of this drug.
You might be having burning of throat due to this side effect. As already said, it is a self limiting transient side effect, which may go by itself after some time. However, if heart burn or throat burning persist or become more intense, see your doctor. They may reduce dosage for you.
